IV22 Building & Joinery is a father-and-son business offering practical building expertise alongside quality, bespoke joinery. Between us, we have over 70 years of hands-on experience in building, renovations, woodworking and furniture-making.
We moved to the Highlands from Cambridge around two years ago, bringing our experience, our family and a straightforward approach to every project. Rather than becoming a large, impersonal building company, we chose to keep things local and personal. As local builders, we enjoy working directly with our customers, understanding what they need and seeing each job through from the first conversation to the finished result.
Whether you need an extension, a renovation, fitted wardrobes or custom furniture, we provide one reliable team for the work.
Being a small family business means we can stay involved throughout your project. You will deal directly with us rather than being passed between office departments, site managers and unfamiliar subcontractors.
We do not routinely subcontract our work, which helps us maintain control over quality, communication and the final finish. We take care when working in customers' homes, offer practical advice based on the job in front of us, and take pride in finishing things properly.

Every home is different, which is why our custom furniture and built-in furniture are made around your room, your storage needs and your style. As experienced joiners, we focus on practical layouts, solid materials and a finish that feels at home in your property.
We are proud to have established IV22 Building & Joinery in Achnasheen and to work with homeowners across the surrounding Scottish Highlands. We are based around an hour from Inverness and are happy to travel for suitable projects, although travel charges may apply for work further afield.
Our aim is to remain a personal, independent business rather than grow into a large operation where customers become just another job number. Choosing local builders means choosing a team who values direct communication, local relationships and work that is built to last.
Practical equipment for practical projects
We own our own digger, allowing us to take care of more groundwork and excavation work ourselves rather than relying on outside contractors. This is particularly useful for external projects, difficult-access sites and jobs that need careful planning from the ground up.
By keeping more of the work in-house, we can better coordinate your project and maintain the same level of care throughout.
Based in Achnasheen, Scottish Highlands, we serve homeowners across the IV22 area and within approximately a 50-mile radius.
